Art #3 - January 3, 2011

For day 3 I thought a Kiwi bird would be epic.  I LOVE these guys.  I remember watching a cartoon as a kid and this Kiwi bird was a photographer.  He was always carrying around that silly camera.  The kiwi paper in back was added just for kicks.  Okay Mom, here is your Kiwi bird.

Day 2 was super fun.  I love the colors and I love the poem "The Raven". The second day into 2011 was good. So far, this is my favorite Chunky Page!  Mom, here is your Raven.

Art #1 - January 1, 2011

My first creation for 2011!  It was fun playing with the colors!  I LOVE bold, beautiful colors! This piece of art is a 4 x 4 Chunky Page for my 2011 "Book of Bird"...dedicated to my mother.

Introduction:

You know, life is interesting.  You can go through life and don't even realize you are living it. You can go through life and struggle and worry.  However, you can go through life and truly enjoy each day.  I have not been living.  I go through the motions of life, but where has it gone. 

The last few years I have ventured into my artistic side.  I have stock piled huge amounts of paper, paint, paint brushes, glue, colored pencils, yarn, etc.  There isn't a medium I am not willing to try, however, I have to say I am fond of mixed media projects. 

So, this year I am working on a 365 day art project for 2011. Each day of the year I will post a piece of art I have done.  A friend from an art website started this last year and I am trying it on for size.  

As I work on this project, I would like to dedicate it to my mother who passed away in January 2010.  My mother was always incouraging me in my art and creations.  She was always asking me about my newest art endeavor.  I have been struggling with this loss and I want to really work through it this year with the help of art! I love her and miss her and I know she would continue to be proud of your baby daughter.
